Maude married Orval B. Houseknecht, who was born August 16, 1896 in Penn Twp., Lycoming Co., PA. His extended family had a summer cabin near her home. Together they had a son, William Perry Houseknecht.

Mrs. Maude T. Houseknecht died at age 47 in Williamsport Hospital at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 1945.
She was survived by her son William of Muncy, a brother, Roscoe Snyder, of Muncy, RD 1, and one sister, Mrs. Thomas E. Murray of Muncy.
Services were conducted from the funeral home, 209 South Main Street, Hughesville, at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 9th, with the Rev. H. G. Steumpfle, pastor of the Hughesville Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial in Muncy Cemetery.
Friends called at the funeral home Monday, October 8th, from 7 to 9 p.m..
